Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

Mince 1/3 cup of onion into very fine pieces to prepare the filling ingredients.

In a medium bowl, combine the minced onion, fresh dill, grated cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and caraway seeds.

Add 2 oz of softened cream cheese and mix everything together with a fork until well combined into a smooth paste.

Lay the salmon fillets on a cutting board and carefully cut a pocket along the center of each fillet, being careful not to cut all the way through and leaving the edges intact.

Transfer the salmon fillets to the prepared baking sheet and season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice.

Divide the cream cheese filling evenly among the four salmon fillets, stuffing it into the pocket of each one.

Drizzle olive oil over the stuffed salmon fillets.

Bake in the preheated oven at 425°F for 8 to 12 minutes until the fish is firm and flakes easily with a fork.
