This creamy and refreshing iced matcha latte comes together in just 2 minutes, packed with antioxidants. It's vegan-adaptable and tastes better than store-bought versions.

Ingredients

ice cubes1 cup (120 g)
milkcan substitute with oat milk or almond milk¾ cups (180 ml)
homemade simple syrupmade with equal parts sugar and water1–2 tbsp (30 ml)
matcha (green tea powder)1½ tsp (3 g)
hot waterabout 175ºF/80ºC, not boiling2 tbsp (30 ml)

Add 1 cup of ice cubes to a glass.

Pour in ¾ cup of your preferred milk.

Add 1–2 tablespoons of homemade simple syrup.

Measure 1½ teaspoons of matcha powder into a matcha bowl (Katakuchi).

Add 2 tablespoons of hot water (about 175ºF/80ºC, not boiling).

Use a bamboo whisk (Chasen) to whisk the matcha mixture, moving it back and forth in a W motion for about 20 seconds until no lumps remain.

Pour the whisked matcha into the glass with milk and ice, stir to combine, admire the beautiful swirl, and enjoy your refreshing iced matcha latte.
