powdered sugar1 cup (125 g)
edible dried rose petals1 to 2 tbsp
crushed pistachios1 to 2 tbsp
Steps
1
Prepare the dry ingredients by sifting together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cardamom, and almond flour. Mix them together and set aside.
2
Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together using a mixer until light and fluffy.
3
Add the four large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
4
Fold in the Greek yogurt, lemon zest, lemon juice, orange zest, and rosewater. Mix until well combined.
5
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture, stirring until the batter becomes thick and cohesive.
6
Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake at 350°F for approximately 40 minutes until the cake is fully baked.
7
Prepare the lemon drizzle by combining 2 tablespoons of sugar with the juice of 1 lemon and 2 drops of rosewater.
8
Make the cake glaze by mixing 1 cup of powdered sugar with lemon juice and rosewater until you achieve a thick icing consistency.
9
Once the cake has cooled completely, poke holes all over its surface to allow the drizzle and glaze to be absorbed and infuse the cake with flavor.
10
Drizzle the lemon mixture over the cake, then pour the glaze over the top. Finish by garnishing with edible rose petals and crushed pistachios.
