Prepare the spice paste by grinding ginger, garlic, and red chilli into a fine paste. Combine with cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves.

Cut chicken into pieces and marinate with yogurt, spice paste, chilli powder, turmeric powder, and salt for about 30 minutes.

Heat oil in the cooker and fry shallots and onions until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

In the same pot, add the marinated chicken and tomato. Cook until the chicken reaches the desired consistency.

Layer the cooked basmati rice on top of the chicken mixture. Place bay leaf and star anise at the bottom of the pot along with other spices.

Close the pressure cooker lid and cook on medium heat until pressure builds. Maintain the pressure for the proper cooking time.

Once the pressure cooking is complete, carefully release the pressure. Top with fried onions, mint leaves, coriander, and lemon juice. Gently mix and serve.
