Fresh shishito peppers (mild green chili peppers)stems removed8 oz

Steps

Remove stems from peppers, wash, and measure 8 ounces. Cut into bite-size pieces.

Coat the pepper pieces with 1 tablespoon of flour and mix evenly.

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add cooking oil.

Add pepper pieces to the hot oil. Do not stir initially—let the bottom side get a light crunch for about 2 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes, pressing down gently.

Reduce heat to medium and add the chopped onion and minced garlic.

Pour in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and continue stirring until the onion becomes slightly translucent.

Remove from heat and drizzle with 2 teaspoons of sesame oil, mixing well.

Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with toasted sesame seeds. Serve as a side dish with rice.
