Ingredients

Prepare the meatball mixture: Combine the sautéed onions, minced garlic, fresh breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, cayenne, allspice, and nutmeg. Add the Worcestershire sauce.

Add the ground beef and ground pork (and optional bacon) to the mixture. Break in the eggs, add the parsley and about a quarter cup of buttermilk. Mix thoroughly with your hands until well combined.

Using an ice cream scoop, portion the mixture and roll into balls. Place on a silicone mat-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for at least 45 minutes until firm.

Heat olive oil in a skillet to about 365°F. Sauté the meatballs in batches until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer to a baking sheet.

Transfer all the meatballs to a baking sheet and place in a preheated 375°F oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145-155°F.

Make the gravy: Melt butter in a pot, add flour and stir to form a roux. Gradually whisk in beef stock, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Cook until thickened.

Season the gravy with Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir in a splash of heavy cream. Finish with a knob of butter for richness.

Gently add the cooked meatballs to the gravy and combine. Plate the meatballs with creamy mashed potatoes, vegetables (such as sautéed broccoli), and gravy. Top with cranberry sauce as desired.
