   Wash the apples and peel them. Quarter each apple and remove the core. Peeling helps reduce the sourness and bitterness from the skin.

   Chop the peeled apples into small pieces and transfer to a large stockpot.

   Add 1 cup of water and 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice to the pot. Stir well.

   Cover the pot with a lid and cook on medium-low heat for 20 to 25 minutes until the apples are very soft and tender.
