This decadent chocolate sheet cake is incredibly easy to make with just two bowls for stirring together the batter. Hot coffee helps bring out the cocoa flavor, while sour cream gives the cake its tender, soft crumb. While the cake bakes, whip up a luscious chocolate frosting loaded with chocolate ganache. Swoop it on top, finish with chocolate shavings, and enjoy your easy homemade chocolate sheet cake.

In one bowl, combine the dry ingredients such as flour, cocoa powder, and sugar.

In a second bowl, mix the wet ingredients—eggs, sour cream, and hot coffee—letting the heat from the coffee intensify the cocoa flavor.

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a smooth batter forms.

Pour the batter into a sheet pan and bake until the cake is soft and pillowy.

While the cake bakes, prepare the chocolate frosting and mix in plenty of chocolate ganache for a rich, silky texture.

Once the cake has cooled, generously spread the frosting on top, swooping it up into decorative peaks.

Finish by sprinkling chocolate shavings on top, then slice and enjoy.
