   If using frozen green peas, rinse with running water to loosen them, then drain and spread on a tray lined with kitchen towel in a single layer to dry.

   Before frying, carefully remove any empty green pea skins to prevent them from burning quickly.

   Heat oil to medium heat, sprinkle the green peas in batches without crowding the pan. Stir occasionally until they turn slightly darker and become crunchy, then remove from heat.

   Once cooled, blend in a spice grinder or coffee grinder. It doesn't need to be fine powder; larger chunks can be left in.
