Simple American-style hamburgers made with fresh ground beef, grilled to perfection and topped with yellow mustard, mayonnaise, fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion. Toasted brioche buns are buttered for a golden, crispy finish.

Ingredients

Divide the ground beef into three equal portions of about 4 oz each and form them into balls.

Gently flatten each ball into a patty, pressing down in the center to create a shallow indentation so the meat doesn't puff up like a balloon while cooking.

Heat a grill pan or cast-iron skillet with butter for about 3 minutes until hot.

Place the patties on the hot pan and grill for about 30 seconds, then flip them over.

Add about 2 tablespoons of butter and continue cooking for about 3 minutes, then flip the patties again.

After about 1 minute, place cheese on top of each patty and cover the pan to allow the cheese to melt.

Spread mayonnaise and yellow mustard on the brioche buns.

Layer ground black pepper, lettuce, onion, and tomato slices on the toasted buns.

Place the cheese-topped patty on top of the vegetables, cover with the top bun, and serve with a pickle on the side.
