   Rinse the azuki beans and place them in a thick-bottomed pot with 7 cups of water. Bring to a boil and cook over medium-high heat for 30 minutes.

   Heat the oil to 300°F (about 150°C). Gently place the doughnut balls into the hot oil and fry over low heat for 5-6 minutes, stirring gently and frequently to ensure even cooking. The exterior should become crispy while the interior remains chewy.
