1
Rinse the rice thoroughly and drain well. There is no need to soak it; place the drained rice directly into the rice cooker.
2
Chop the thinly sliced pork into small pieces.
3
Place the meat in a bowl and add 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons soju, about 1/3 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon sesame oil. Sprinkle with black pepper, mix well, and set aside to marinate.
4
Add approximately 300ml of water to the rice—roughly one and a half times the rice volume.
5
Spread the washed bean sprouts generously over the rice, using about 300g (the same amount as the meat).
6
Spread the marinated pork evenly over the bean sprouts, spreading it out as widely as possible to prevent clumping.
7
Close the rice cooker lid and press the cooking button or adjust the heat as usual.
8
While the rice cooks, prepare the sauce by mixing 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon soju, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic, about 1 tablespoon very finely chopped green onions, 1/2 tablespoon red chili powder, and 1/2 tablespoon white sesame seeds. Mix well.
9
When the rice is cooked, use a spatula to gently mix the rice and meat evenly, being careful not to crush the bean sprouts.
10
Add the prepared sauce to your liking, mix well, and serve.
