   Rinse the lentils thoroughly and drain. Bring water to a boil in a pot, add onion, garlic, and a pinch of salt, then add the lentils and bring to a simmer.

   While the lentils cook, prepare the remaining ingredients: cut bacon into small pieces, chop sausages, mince onion, tomatoes, serrano chili, and garlic, and halve the cilantro.

   Heat oil in a separate pan and sauté the bacon and sausages until golden brown, adding a pinch of salt. Once browned, remove from the pan and set aside.
