Remove the membrane from the pork ribs.

Mix bourbon whiskey and apple juice together to create a spritz for binding the seasoning.

Layer all-purpose seasoning onto the prepared ribs.

Place ribs in a drum smoker at 250°F and smoke unwrapped for about 2 hours, spritzing every 45 minutes.

For the sauce, combine apple juice, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, adobo, kosher salt, black pepper, granulated garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.

Blend the sauce mixture with an immersion blender until smooth, then stir in dark brown sugar, honey, and bourbon whiskey.

Simmer the barbecue sauce for 15 to 20 minutes.

Wrap the ribs with butter and the bourbon barbecue sauce, then return them to the smoker for about 1 hour to finish.

Create a foil boat for serving, generously sauce the finished ribs, and allow them to rest in the smoker briefly before serving.
