Inspired by bagels and lox, this pizza features a lemon-dill cream cheese and sour cream sauce, crispy fried capers, shallots, and a garlic-dill butter crust. Topped with both baked and cold smoked salmon for a hot-and-cold taste experience.

Salt~1 tspest.
Sugar~1 tspest.

Sour cream~¼ cupsest.
Fresh dill~2 tbspest.
Fresh lemon zest~1 tspest.
Dijon mustard~1 tbspest.

Combine flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar in a mixer bowl. Add warm water and olive oil, then mix until a dough forms. If too wet, gradually add more flour until just combined.

Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead briefly. Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about an hour.

Once risen, punch down the dough and knead briefly until smooth. Return to the bowl while preparing other ingredients.

In a bowl, combine whipped cream cheese with sour cream, fresh dill, fresh lemon zest, and Dijon mustard. Mix until smooth—this is the lemon-dill cream cheese sauce.

Heat oil to about 350°F. Add drained capers and fry for about a minute until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

On a floured surface, gently stretch the dough into a 10- to 12-inch round pizza shape.

Spread the lemon-dill cream cheese sauce evenly over the dough in a single smooth layer.

Layer some pastrami-style smoked salmon slices over the sauce.

Place the pizza in a preheated 450°F oven and bake for 6 to 10 minutes.

While the pizza bakes, peel and slice the red shallot.

Mix melted butter, fresh dill, and garlic paste together to make a garlic-dill butter.

When the pizza comes out of the oven, brush the garlic-dill butter on the crust edges.

Top the hot pizza with large pieces of cold smoked salmon and scatter the shallot slices over it.

Finish by sprinkling the crispy capers and a little fresh dill over the top.
