Combine 1/4 cup moong dal and 1/4 cup raw rice in a mixing bowl. Rinse both ingredients thoroughly several times until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.
2
Cover the mixture and let it soak for about 3 hours, allowing the moong dal and rice to absorb water completely.
3
Transfer the drained moong dal and rice to a food processor, add a little water, and grind into a fine, smooth paste.
4
In the same food processor, add 1 cup grated coconut, 4 cardamom pods, and some water. Grind until finely combined.
5
Heat 1/4 cup ghee in a pan, then add the moong dal-rice paste and coconut mixture. Begin stirring continuously.
6
Keep stirring as the mixture thickens and becomes dense, until it can form into a ball that stays at the edge of the pan.
7
Add 1.5 cups jaggery and mix thoroughly until fully combined.
8
Continue stirring until the mixture becomes very thick and pulls away from the pan sides. Pour onto parchment paper to cool.
9
Once completely cooled, cut into squares or desired shapes. This sweet melts in your mouth and is perfect for the whole family to enjoy.
