half and half or cream (optional)~1/4-1/2 cupsest.
Steps
1
Fill the electric percolator with cold, fresh water. To account for evaporation during brewing, use 3-4 cups of water if you want about 2 cups of finished coffee.
2
Use freshly ground coffee beans with a coarse grind. Follow the guideline of about 1.5 tablespoons of coffee per cup of water for your preferred flavor strength.
3
Add the ground coffee to the basket inside the percolator.
4
Assemble the percolator and place the lid on tightly.
5
Plug in the percolator. You will hear popping sounds as the coffee begins to percolate.
6
The coffee is ready when the popping sounds stop. Keep it plugged in to maintain the coffee's temperature, especially when serving guests.
7
Pour the coffee into a cup. If desired, add collagen powder (whisked with a hand mixer), cardamom syrup or sugar, and half and half or cream to taste.
8
Enjoy the hot coffee. For serving larger quantities, transfer the coffee to thermal carafes to keep it hot for your guests.
