Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F). In a pan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool completely.

In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas, then add both sugars, the egg, vanilla extract, salt, and the cooled brown butter. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

Add the flour, baking soda, and chocolate chips to the wet mixture. Gently fold together until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan with oil or butter and line it with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the pan and top with additional chocolate chips.
