miso paste2 tbsp
sugar1 tsp
soy sauce1 tsp
mirin1 tbsp
chicken bouillon powder½ tsp
minced garlic1 tsp
sesame oil2 tsp for frying the rice balls, 2 tsp for the sauce4 tsp

Shape the rice into 6 firm rice balls, squeezing them tightly. Wrap with plastic wrap and let rest for about 10 minutes.

Make the glaze: combine miso, chicken bouillon powder, sugar, and minced garlic. Mix well.

Add soy sauce, mirin, and 2 tsp sesame oil to the mixture. Mix thoroughly.

Heat 2 tsp sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds. Place the rice balls in the pan and fry until golden on each side.

After frying three sides, brush the glaze evenly onto the rice balls.

Reduce heat to low. Flip the rice balls and brush the other side with glaze. Keep flipping and brushing until all sides are golden and well-coated.

Fry the edges until golden brown. The grilled rice balls are now ready to serve.
