1
Combine the warm milk, melted butter, salt, and egg in a bowl and mix well.
2
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and instant yeast.
3
Slowly pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and mix by hand until everything is incorporated. Add a little more warm milk if there are dry spots.
4
Let the dough rest for 3 minutes, then knead by hand for 3 minutes until no longer sticky and the dough is smooth and elastic.
5
Roll the dough into a ball, place it in a greased bowl, and oil the top. Cover with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
6
Once doubled, remove the dough from the bowl and press out the air. Divide the dough into approximately 20 pieces of about 2.5 oz (70g) each, keeping the rest covered to prevent drying.
7
Shape each piece into a smooth ball by rolling and tucking the edges, then place on a baking sheet. Keep covered with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel. Let rise again in a warm place until doubled, about 30 to 45 minutes.
8
Preheat oven to 350°F. Once the rolls have doubled, bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
9
While the rolls bake, prepare the honey butter: Beat softened butter and powdered sugar until creamy. Add honey, cinnamon, and salt, and mix until combined.
10
Brush the baked rolls with melted butter immediately after removing from the oven. Let cool for a few minutes, then spread the honey butter on top and serve.
