   Crack the egg into a bowl, lightly beat it, then immediately add the granulated sugar and mix quickly to prevent the sugar from absorbing moisture and forming lumps.

   Add the vegetable oil and mix well, then add the milk and continue mixing until the granulated sugar is completely dissolved with no grainy texture remaining.

   Sift in the cake flour and baking powder, then mix using a cutting motion with a rubber spatula, being careful not to overwork the dough which would develop gluten.

   Remove the dough and roll it out between plastic wrap to about 1 cm thickness. Cut out rings using a 6 cm round mold on parchment paper, then use a 3 cm mold to cut out the center hole.

   Pour at least 1 cm of oil into the pan and heat to 160-170°C. Test the temperature by inserting a wooden stick; if fine bubbles emerge from the tip, the temperature is right.

   Place the donuts into the oil with the textured side facing down. After about 2 minutes, flip them over (the parchment paper will naturally separate), and fry each side for about 2-3 more minutes until golden brown, for a total of 4-5 minutes.

   Drain the fried donuts. Break the milk chocolate into small pieces, place in a microwave-safe bowl, and heat at 600W for 1 minute until melted; add 10 more seconds if needed.

    Gently dip the cooled donuts into the melted chocolate to coat, then set aside to let the chocolate harden. Alternatively, dust with powdered sugar, kinako powder, or granulated sugar.
