Super Easy Sweet Buns

   Make the tangzhong: In a pan over medium-high heat, cook and stir flour and milk together until the mixture becomes thick and paste-like.

   Transfer the tangzhong to a mixer bowl, add milk and stir to let it cool. Add sugar, egg, instant yeast, and butter, then mix well.

   Add flour and salt. Place the mixer bowl in a stand mixer set to medium-low speed and knead for 5 to 7 minutes until the dough becomes smooth.

   Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise until it doubles in size.

   Punch the air out of the dough, then transfer it to a floured surface. Divide into 18 equal portions of about 60 grams each.

   Place the dough balls in a lined 13×9 inch baking pan, cover, and let them rise for 30 minutes.

   Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F) for at least 15 minutes.

   Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown.

   Brush the hot buns with melted butter.
