Heat unsalted butter in a pan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it turns golden brown with fragrant brown milk solids.

While butter browns, grind Earl Grey tea leaves finely using a spice grinder or press through a sieve until powdered, yielding about 1 tablespoon.

Stir in half a vanilla bean (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract) into the hot browned butter.

Pour browned butter into a bowl to cool. Add quarter teaspoon cardamom and 1 tablespoon ground tea leaves, stirring until combined.

Refrigerate the mixture, stirring every 15 minutes until it reaches a spreadable consistency, about 30 to 45 minutes.

In a large bowl, combine the cooled tea-infused browned butter and 113g softened butter with powdered sugar, egg yolk, and salt. Beat on medium speed until creamy.

Add all-purpose flour and cornstarch, mixing on low speed until just combined. Avoid overworking to maintain a tender, crisp texture.
