A Filipino spaghetti dish featuring a rich tomato-based sauce with ground pork, sliced hotdogs, and topped with cheddar cheese. Perfect for Christmas and special occasions.
Prepare the ingredients: mince the garlic and onion separately, and slice the hotdogs diagonally.
2
Cook the spaghetti: bring salted water to a boil, add the spaghetti and cook according to package directions (approximately 8-10 minutes) to al dente, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Drain and set aside.
3
Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onion for about one minute until softened.
4
Add half of the ground pork and cook for about one minute, then add the remaining pork. Continue stirring until light brown, using a potato masher to help break up the meat into smaller pieces.
5
Add the sliced hotdogs, mix and let sit for about one minute, then combine with the cooked pork.
6
Add the all-purpose flour (optional) and then a little water to deglaze the pan, scraping up the flavorful browned bits stuck to the bottom.
7
Pour in the spaghetti sauce and mix well. Add water (use it to rinse out the sauce container) and continue cooking.
8
Once boiling, add the Knorr pork cube. Reduce heat to low and slowly simmer until the sauce reduces by approximately half.
9
Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper. Add the liver spread, melting it first before incorporating.
10
Add the cooked spaghetti and gently toss until the sauce completely coats all the noodles.
11
Add the cheddar cheese in two batches: first toss some cheese to make it creamy, then add the remaining cheese. Serve immediately.
