Make the comeback sauce by combining mayonnaise, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt.

Prepare the slaw by mixing angel hair cabbage with mayonnaise, celery seed, pickle juice, salt, pepper, and a pinch of smoked paprika.

Prepare the Nashville hot oil by heating neutral oil in a small pot until shimmering. Remove from heat and whisk in cayenne, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt, allowing the spices to bloom.

Prepare the hot dogs: butterfly one by cutting lengthwise down the middle, and make shallow crosswise slits on the other to help it absorb the hot oil.

Heat oil in a flat-top pan and place both hot dogs cut-side down. Flip multiple times while cooking and brush the Nashville hot oil over them as they cook until golden and beginning to char, about 5–6 minutes total.

Lightly butter the hot pan and toast the white bread slices until golden, being careful not to burn the butter.

Assemble the hot dogs by spreading comeback sauce on the toasted bread, placing a cooked hot dog on top, and adding another dollop of sauce.

Top each hot dog with a generous portion of slaw, drizzle with hot honey and additional Nashville hot oil, and garnish with homemade pickle chips.

Serve immediately and be prepared for the mess—have plenty of napkins and a plate ready to catch the drippings.
