Traditional Lebanese Kibbeh Balls with Kishik

   Heat the olive oil in a medium pot over medium heat. Add minced garlic with salt and stir for about 1 minute until fragrant and lightly browned.

   Add the kishik powder and stir with the oil and garlic for about 2 minutes until lightly toasted.

   Pour in about 7 cups of hot water and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom.

   Once the kishik begins to boil, choose one of two methods: Method 1 (Simmering): Reduce heat to medium, add 6 to 8 kibbeh balls and simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove to a plate and repeat with the remaining kibbeh.

   Method 2 (Frying): Reduce heat to medium and let the kishik simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until thickened. Meanwhile, fry the kibbeh balls in hot oil in a separate pan until golden brown on both sides.

   Taste the kishik and adjust seasoning with salt if needed.
