Heat oil in a pan until hot.
2
Add onion and sauté until softened, about a minute and a half, then add garlic. If you prefer milder garlic flavor, fry garlic first.
3
Add ground pork and fry until light brown, stirring constantly to break it apart. Continue frying until all the liquid evaporates.
4
Add soy sauce and oyster sauce, stirring to coat the ground pork evenly. Continue frying for about 2 more minutes.
5
Pour in 0.5 to 1 cup of water, cover the pot, and reduce heat to the lowest setting. Cook until the liquid completely evaporates.
6
Add brown sugar to deepen the color and enhance flavor.
7
Add cabbage and stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes, then cover and cook for another 2 minutes until cabbage softens.
8
If desired, add a small amount of browning sauce to deepen the color, then add a little water to adjust consistency.
9
Add bell peppers and cook for about 1 minute.
10
Taste the dish, then season with black pepper and salt. Since soy sauce and oyster sauce are already salty, taste first before adding salt. Add water if needed to adjust saltiness.
11
Transfer to a serving plate and serve hot with freshly cooked rice.
